4 Way Interclub Competition at Gateshead - Thursday 23rd February 2023.
On Thursday 23th February 2023, Gateshead Camera Club hosted Part 2 of the 4 Way Interclub Competition between
Gateshead, Cramlington, Gosforth and Morpeth Camera Clubs. Each club had submitted five monochrome prints & five
colour prints, which were marked out of thirty by visiting judge, Stephen Fowler of Ryton & District Camera Club. Before
commenting on each print, Stephen stated that his style of judging was to give a wide variation of scores, and true to
his word there were some surprises with marks ranging from eighteen to thirty points. We also saw some prints highly
praised but given low marks.
In this contest Morpeth CC were Fourth on the night with Gosforth CC taking first place. In this particular competition
the marks from the Projected Digital Image section, (Part 1), held on 17th November 2022, are added to tonight's print
scores (Part 2), to establish the trophy winner. It was then announced that Gosforth Camera Club had edged ahead to
win the two-part competition, with Morpeth Camera Club in fourth place.
The full scores for the competition were as follows:
                                       1st. Gosforth CC...................Pdi 286, Prints 251 = Total 537 pts.
                                       2nd. Gateshead CC................Pdi 257, Prints 240 = Total 497 pts.
                                       2nd. Cramlington CC.............Pdi 255, Prints 242 = Total 497 pts.
                                       4th. Morpeth CC...................Pdi 258, Prints 210 = Total 468 pts.
Our thanks go to Sue Dibben, Sue Dawson, Glyn Trueman, Peter Downs, Davy Bolam and Carl Harper, whose prints
made up the Morpeth entry.
