4 Way Interclub Comp (Pdi's) at Cramlington - Thursday 28th November 2019.
On Thursday 28th November, it was Cramlington Camera Club's turn to host the Annual 4 Way Interclub Competition
at Doxford Methodist Church in Cramlington. In this contest Morpeth, Gateshead, Cramlington and Gosforth Camera
Clubs had each submitted ten digital images on any subject. Stephen Fowler from Ryton & District Camera Club had
been invited to view and comment on each image before giving a mark out of thirty.
The judge then described each image as it appeared on the screen, stating what the subject matter had meant to him
before giving appropriate comments and on occasion suggesting things that may be done to improve the picture. The
high standard of natural history images among the forty entries had also been commented on as he selected 'Vulture'
from Gosforth Camera Club, as his top image gaining the maximum thirty marks. At the end of the evening the totals
were as follows -
                              Gosforth Camera Club....................267 marks.
                              Morpeth Camera Club....................259 marks.
                              Gateshead Camera Club................248 marks.
                              Cramlington Camera Club.............247 marks.
On a very wet night in Cramlington there was a good attendance of Morpeth members who enjoyed the evening but
some inconsistent judging and images looking different on another clubs projector raised some discussion. Coffee &
sandwiches closed the evening and as this was Part One of a Two Part Competition we now look forward to February
2020 when the clubs meet again for the second leg where the Colour and Monochrome Print section entries will be
judged. The marks from both competitions are then added together to find the overall winners who will receive the
4 Way Trophy. Thanks to Paul Appleby, Mark Harrison, Sue Dawson, Steve Mcdonald, Davy Bolam, Glyn Trueman &
Sophie Elliott Edwards whose images made up the Morpeth entry.
