Win for Morpeth, Result of 7 Way Interclub Category Competition - Sunday 22nd March 2015.

On Sunday 22nd March 2015, Amble Photographic Group hosted the 7 Way Interclub Projected Digital Image
Category Competition at the Trinity Church Hall in Percy Street, Amble.

In this annual competition each of the seven clubs in the Northern Area were invited to enter ten images with not
less than one, and no more than two images to be submitted in each of the following categories - Landscape, Still
Life, Interiors, Portraits, Sport & Action, Photo Journalism, Flora & Fauna, and Fantasy, Myth, Legend or Religion.

Amble had given the task of judging to David Ord of Ryton Camera Club who commented on all of seventy images,
giving his opinion as to whether it matched the category in which it had been entered and then marking out of thirty.
David stated that the standard of work was very high and that there had been several contenders for his best image
in the competition before he finally selected " Seed Head ", an image in the Amble entry that gained the maximum
mark of 30.

The scores for each clubs individual images were added together and it was confirmed that Morpeth Camera Club had
taken first place with 260 marks. This completed a hat trick of wins for Morpeth, retaining the trophy they had won
at Cambois in 2014 and Wooler in 2013. Morpeth Competition Secretary Davy Bolam then stepped up and accepted
the 7 Way Category Competition Trophy on behalf of the club.

The final results were as follows,

1st. Morpeth Camera Club........................260 pts.

2nd. Amble Photographic Group....................257 pts.
3rd. Alnwick & District Camera Club..............254 pts.

5th. Cambois Camera Club..........................247 pts.
6th. Ashington Camera Club .......................243 pts.

to Amble Photographic Group for their hospitality. Thank you also to Morpeth members Vince Rooker, Steve Mcdonald,
Glyn Trueman, Davy Bolam, Mark Harrison, Elaine Illingworth & Ian Cadwallender whose images made up the successful
Morpeth entry.
