M.C.C. Exhibition of Members Prints - Saturday 21st April 2018.

At the end of 2017, Morpeth Camera Club was approached by the Morpeth New Voices Community Choir with an idea
for a possible joint venture that would bring both groups together for a community event. After several meetings and
discussions it was decided that a performance by the choir, with cakes, coffee and photo exhibition may be feasible.
This aim of this project was to showcase the talents of both groups and open the door to a possible new audience to
see what we do.

On Saturday 21st April 2018, the choir held a daytime concert in the Corn Exchange at Morpeth Town Hall to celebrate
their 21st birthday & they performed "21 Songs for 21 Years". This proved to be a huge success with the doors closed
and sold out notices displayed with just under one hundred visitors in attendance. To compliment this concert Morpeth
Camera club provided a photographic display of sixty colour and monochrome prints, with some of the photos reflecting
the themes of the songs. These prints were on the clubs display stands and set up in the Buttermarket exhibition area.
This selection of members work was very popular and attracted a lot of attention and comment from visitors.

The club is indebted to the small team took on this task and collected prints, printed titles, set up the display and also
represented the club on the day by manning the exhibition and giving information to interested parties. This successful
event resulted in a donation to the camera club from the New Voices Choir who acknowledged the hard work done by
all concerned. They asked that best wishes and thank you be passed to the authors for a very good photographic display
and to the individual club members who purchased tickets for the concert, for their support.
