Club Meeting “Northumberland at Night” 27th October 2026
On Tuesday the 27h Morpeth Camera Club welcomed guest speaker Colin Johnson who gave members a presentation on “Northumberland at Night” Colin outlined his path to the culmination of his book and the process of taking a portfolio to print.
The first half Colin showed us his love of nature with some superb photographs of Badgers, Foxes and a plethora of birds in flight, feeding and some fighting over territory. Alongside these nature photographs Colin also manages to fit in trips to Norway, Iceland, Spain as well as the islands of Scotland.

The 2nd part of the presentation we enjoyed many of the well photographed places of Northumberland but taken at night. This element gave a whole new perspective to places like Bolam Lake, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, Craster and Newcastle. The final book is beautifully presented and is a credit to his endeavours.
This was Colin’s first presentation to a Photographic Club, and the Chairman Jeremy Cooper thanked Colin for an inspiring and informative evening.
