Club Meeting Report, Bates Cup Results - Tuesday 20th November 2012.

On Tuesday 20th November 2012, Anne Swearman of Whitley Bay Photographic Society accepted the challenge of judging the Annual Digital Landscape Competition at Morpeth Camera Club. Nineteen members had submitted fifty seven entries and Anne had the the difficult task of viewing and then commenting on each image.
With years of experience as a photographer and a respected judge, Anne gave constructive advice and tips with regard to photographing the landscape, and chose five images to be awarded highly commended, Break in the Clouds - Chris Hills, Edinburgh from the Park - Dave Illingworth, Sablet - Lionel Bryan, Land & Sea & Sky -John Thompson, Stormy Beach - Mark Harrison.
Anne confirmed that the high standard of work submitted had caused her some problems whilst selecting her top five and announced the winner of the " Bates Cup " for the best Landscape image to be South Pier Sunrise, an atmospheric shot taken at Blyth by Ian Cadwallender.

4th. Bass Rock - John Thompson.
5th. Howtown Boat - Vince Rooker.
