Club Walk No 4, Tanfield Railway Visit - Sunday 21st June 2015.

Walk Number Four on the Camera Club Summer Programme took us on a visit to Tanfield Steam Railway at
Sunniside on Sunday 21st June. This was a very informal day where members looked for images at the annual
"Legends of Industry Gala" that featured two visiting steam locomotives, "Mech Navvies" from the Pontypool &
Blaenavon Railway and "Consett Ironworks A No 5", from the North Tyneside Steam Railway Museum, as well
as Tanfields resident steam and diesel engine fleet.

A varied timetable saw passenger and freight trains running on the three miles of track between Sunniside &
East Tanfield, where vehicles from the Sunderland and District Classic Vehicle Society were also on display.
The area around the Marley Hill Engine Shed offered endless photo opportunities and the model railway layouts,
trade stands, railway memorabilia and cafe in the carriage shed were well visited.
Throughout the day it was good to bump into club members Vince Rooker, Glyn Trueman, Peter Downs, Pat Wood,
Chris Hills, Pat Hills, Neil Baxter & Dave Bisset and exchange views and finds. Question is "Did we all take the
same images"?. It will be interesting to see how nine different photographers recorded their visit.
