7 Way Interclub Category Competition - Thursday 21st March 2024.

On Thursday 21st March 2024, Blyth Photographic Society hosted the 7 Way Interclub Projected Digital Image
Category Competition at St Marys Church Hall, Wanley Street, Blyth. In this annual contest each of the *Seven
clubs in the NCPF Northern Area are invited to enter 10 images with not less than 1,and no more than 2 images
to be submitted in each of the following categories - Landscape, Interiors, Portraits, Flora & Fauna, Still Life, and
Fantasy, Myth, Legend or Religion.
Blyth had given the task of judging to Dave Best LRPS, who is a member of Hexhan & District Photographic Society.
The judge commented on each image before giving a mark out of Thirty. As expected in an interclub competition
there was a high standard of work submitted but once again two clubs failed to provide an entry, leaving only fifty
images across the six categories. One Ashington image entitled Coils' gained the maximum thirty marks and when
the scores for each of the clubs individual images were added together it was a close result with Ashington in first
place with 267 marks and Morpeth in second place with 260 marks. The full result was as follows;
                                        1st.  Ashington Camera Club........................267 pts.
2nd. Morpeth Camera Club .........................260 pts.
                                        3rd.  Alnwick & District Camera Club............258 pts.
                                        4th.  Blyth Photographic Society.................255 pts.
                                        5th.  Wooler Camera Club.........................240 pts.
*Amble Photo Group failed to enter.
*Cambois Camera Club failed to enter.
The event concluded without the usual trophy presentation (as no Ashington members could be bothered to turn up),
followed by the raffle and an excellent buffet provided by the host club. Big thank you to Blyth for their hospitality.
Thank you also to the Morpeth members who travelled to support the event and to Glyn Trueman, Sue Dawson, Paul
Appleby, Davy Bolam, Brian Morris, Mark Harrison and Graham Sorrie, whose images made up the Morpeth CC entry.
