Club Meeting, Awards & Presentation Evening - Tuesday 6th May 2025.

On Tuesday, 6th May 2025, the Camera Club concluded their regular meetings for the 2024/25 season with their
annual awards and presentation evening. This event celebrates the photographic work of its members. During the
meeting, the Competition Secretary, Davy Bolam, presented a new Audio Visual show that showcased entries from
this season's competitions, images submitted to the website gallery, a small number of new and unseen pictures
and favourites from the club archive. Set to an appropriate musical soundtrack, images featuring birds, animals
and flowers, architecture, castles, and creative impressions. Local views, people, lakes, dramatic landscapes,
seascapes, and skyscapes were all crafted into an enjoyable, flowing presentation.

The awards ceremony followed, and the competition secretary briefly explained the points system used to establish
the winners before listing the club’s seven trophies. The top images in each category were then projected, followed
by the announcement of the titles and author. Club Chairman Peter Downs then presented the award winners with
their well-deserved trophies and certificates, with the results as follows;


The Browell Trophy - Awarded to the Winner of the Pdi Natural History Competition.

1st - Glyn Trueman.
2nd - Paul Appleby.
3rd - Glyn Trueman.


The Bates Cup - Awarded to the Winner of the Pdi Landscape Competition.

1st - Glyn Trueman.
2nd - Paul Appleby.
3rd - Davy Bolam.


The Vince Rooker Award - Awarded to the Best Panel in the 3 of a Kind Print
Competition.


1st - Glyn Trueman.
Runner up - Davy Bolam.


The Camera Trophy - Awarded to the Monochrome Print Worker of the Year.

1st - Glyn Trueman.
2nd - Sue Dawson.
3rd - Paul Appleby.


The Colour Cup - Awarded to the Colour Print Worker of the Year.

1st - Glyn Trueman.
2nd - Davy Bolam.
3rd - Roseanne Robinson.


The Pdi Shield - Awarded to the Pdi Worker of the Year.

1st - Glyn Trueman.
2nd - Paul Appleby.
3rd - Paul Kidd.


The Photographers Plaque - Awarded to the Photographer of the Year.

2nd - Paul Appleby.
3rd - Davy Bolam.


Davy concluded by saying that in competitions this year, 23 different members entered 109 monochrome prints, 146
colour prints and 222 Pdi’s in the competitions offered to an outside judge and thanked everyone who supported the
competitions. Club Chairman, Peter Downs thanked Davy for providing a very entertaining audio-visual club show &
a comprehensive account of the club members' achievements over the past year. As is usual for the final meeting, a
pooled buffet supper was enjoyed, bringing another successful season of photography to a close.

After a short break, it is hoped that a programme of informal summer walks to local places of interest will be announced
and advertised through the club website and members' newsletter.
