editing evening draft

Morpeth Camera Club Editing Challenge 2025
Following the success of previous seasons’ editing challenges we are holding another one this season.
The basic idea of this challenge is for us to have a go at editing up to Five of the supplied images for
showing at the club’s meeting on Tuesday April 22nd.

This challenge provides us with the opportunity to practice our editing skills, use our imaginations,
and perhaps have a go at using some new editing techniques.

Instructions:
· Download the images you wish to edit using the link on the Club Newsletter emailed to all members.
· Edit them as you wish using any computer software you have available to use.
· Save the images as JPEG files in the usual club format (max. 1600 pixels horizontal x 1200 pixels vertical).
· Send a maximum of up to 5 edited images in total (from any combination of the original images supplied)
to Glyn Trueman by email (or We Transfer) by 9pm on Monday April 21st.
  Email: glyn.trueman@lineone.net

· Talk about what you have done to the images when they are shown at the meeting on Tuesday April 22nd,
- If you are not able to come to the meeting, please send some comments on your edits with the images.

Notes

The way in which you edit the images is entirely up to you. The changes you make can range from basic
alterations to using more complex techniques, whatever you feel works with the image you are editing.

Basic changes may include cropping, changing the shape or orientation of the photo, adjusting things
like brightness, contrast etc., and/ or converting the image to monochrome.
More complex changes you might wish to try include:
· moving, removing or changing individual elements in the image,
· creating a collage
· creating a triptych
· using filters, plugins etc. - for artistic effects,
· cloning out or duplicating elements within an image,
· replacing skies in landscape images etc.,
· combining elements from more than one of the supplied images to create something new.

For those participating, this is a chance for us to use our imaginations, to experiment and perhaps to try
and learn new editing skills. You do not need to be an editing expert to participate as some of the most
simple and basic changes can be very effective. So, even if you have limited experience at editing pictures,
please have a go.

JPEG versions of the images for his challenge (in the usual club format are attached to this email.
