On Sunday 23rd March 2014, Morpeth Camera Club travelled into Scotland to compete in the Borders Digital Challenge.
Held every year at Hawick High School, Hawick, in the Scottish Borders, each participating club takes a turn at running
this prestigious interclub event. This year Liddesdale Camera Club were the hosts and they had invited Mr John Williams,

and Galashiels, had each entered twelve images, ten to be marked and two to be held in reserve in case of a tie.
The judge was to comment on every entry and mark out of twenty.
At the half way stage there was nothing in it but after the last images were marked it was announced that for the first
time in the history of the competition that there was a triple tie for first place with Galashiels, Morpeth and Morton all on
180 marks.
These three clubs then had their two reserve images judged, Galashiels scoring 18/17, Morpeth scoring 19/18 and
Morton scoring 17/19. These marks were added to the totals and Morpeth Camera Club were announced as the winners
of the Reiver Cup with 217 marks.
