Club Meeting AGM - Tuesday 28th April 2026
On Tuesday 28th April, Morpeth Camera Club held their Annual General Meeting, marking the penultimate gathering of the 2025/26 season. The event was a resounding success, with committee members delivering excellent reports on the various
activities and competitions related to their roles in the day-to-day running of the club.
We discussed photographic summer walks and day trips and have received a healthy number of members who are willing to lead them. A view of introducing a theme for each walk was suggested which would encourage members to hone their photographic skills and learn new techniques. It was agreed that we should post the summer walks on social media to give prospective members a chance to come along and get to know us and see what we do. We agreed that by emphasizing the continuing use of mobile phones as a choice of photography is more than acceptable. This could encourage new, and existing members, to go out and take photos with what they have at hand on the day. Our members have varying degrees of ability and it was important to ensure that newcomers should not be intimidated by large cameras. We agreed that the very informative and helpful tutorial sessions would continue. This was a lively AGM with many members offering productive ideas on how to go forward. We are all looking forward to an active and exciting new season of photography.
