7 Way Interclub Print Competition at Blyth - Thursday 1st November 2018.

On Thursday 1st November 2018, it was the turn of Blyth Photographic Society to host the annual 7 Way Interclub Print
Competition. Camera Clubs from Ashington, Alnwick, Amble, Morpeth, Blyth, Cambois and Wooler make up the Northern
Area of the Northern Counties Photographic Federation and each were invited to submit four colour & four monochrome
prints on any subject,  however it was later announced that Wooler Camera Club had not entered and have withdrawn
from all interclub competitions. Blyth had invited Stephen Fowler from Ryton Camera Club to judge this competition and
he stated that he had some quite difficult decisions to make between some of the higher marked prints in the contest.
The judge then commented on each print before awarding a mark out of thirty. In the end the results were disappointing
as, unfortunately, we finished sixth of the six clubs that entered. Cambois were the runaway winners with two of their
eight prints, 'Food on the Brain' & 'The Scream' each scoring the maximum of thirty marks.

                                            1st  Cambois Camera Club   - 220 marks.
                                            2nd  Alnwick Camera Club   - 197 marks.
                                             2nd  Blyth Photographic Society   - 197 marks.
                                             4th  Ashington Camera Club - 196 marks.
                                             5th  Amble Photographic Group  - 194 marks.
                                             6th  Morpeth Camera Club   - 186 marks.

Thanks to Sue Dawson, Glyn Trueman, Dave Bisset and Steve Mcdonald who's prints made up the Morpeth entry. The
highest scoring of Morpeth’s images was a colour print entitled 'Torres Del Paine' by Steve McDonald which got twenty
six marks. Thanks to hosts Blyth Photographic Society for a good evening with a buffet supper provided by their members.
