Virtual Meeting, 3-Way Interclub Competition - Tuesday 2nd March 2021.
On Tuesday 2nd March 2021, Morpeth Camera Club hosted Part 2 of a 3-Way Interclub Competition between
Gateshead, Gosforth and Morpeth Camera Clubs. This was a virtual zoom meeting due to the current situation
and members from each club were able enjoy an evening of photography from the safety of their homes via
the internet.
Each club had submitted Fifteen Monochrome Projected Digital Images which were marked out of Thirty by NCPF
President and judge, Jim Welsh LRPS CPAGB APAGB. He stated that the high standard of work in this competition
had demanded close observation and a detailed critique of the great variation of subject matter submitted. Jim
commented on each of the forty five images, offering his personal observations with constructive comments if
relevant, before giving each image a mark. One image he had classed as outstanding as he awarded 'Whittling'
by Leo Douglas of Gateshead Camera Club, thirty out of thirty.

In a very close contest Morpeth were Second on the night with Gosforth taking First place and Gateshead Third.
In this particular interclub competition the marks from the Colour Projected Digital Image section, (Part 1) of the
competition, held on 24th November 2020, are added to the Monochrome Projected Digital image marks (Part 2),
to establish the overall winner. It was then announced that Gosforth Camera Club had edged ahead to win the two
part competition, with Morpeth Camera Club in second place and Gateshead third.
Our thanks go to Glyn Trueman, Sue Dawson, John Willmore, John Thompson, Davy Bolam and Steve Mcdonald
whose images made up the Morpeth entry. At the end of the evening Morpeth Club Chairman John Barnes thanked
Jim for his skilled observations and comments, the 'Pro-Lab 4-Way Challenge Cup' was then virtually presented to
a representative of the winning club. The scores for the competition were as follows:
                                       1st. Gosforth CC........Colour Pdi 397, Mono Pdi 391 = Total 788 pts.
                                       2nd. Morpeth CC........Colour Pdi 399, Mono Pdi 385 = Total 784 pts.
