Club Meeting, Awards & Presentation Evening - Tuesday 3rd May 2022.
On Tuesday May 3rd the regular programme of Camera Club meetings for the 2021/22 season concluded with the
annual awards and presentation evening. This is a celebration of the members’ photographic work and during the
meeting Davy Bolam presented a new audio visual show featuring images which had been entered in competitions
throughout the season by members. Set to appropriate music we saw misty landscapes, billowing cloudscapes,
stormy seas battering lighthouses, autumnal woodland scenes, waterfalls, church interiors, modern architecture,
fauna and flora, street entertainers, agriculture and industry. Included in this very eclectic mix of images we also
enjoyed creative macro flowers, vibrantly coloured abstracts, stylised woodland and multi layered compositions.
The competition secretary then followed on with an explanation of the points system used to establish the winners
and went on to list the club’s seven trophies. The top images in each category were projected and followed by the
announcement of the winning image and author. The Vince Rooker Award was presented for the first time this year
and is in memory of Vince Rooker, the late Life Club President of the club and a much respected and a renowned
photographer throughout the photographic community.
