7 Way Interclub Category Competition - Sunday 5th March 2023.

On Sunday 5th March 2023, Alnwick & District Camera Club hosted the 7 Way Interclub Projected Digital
Image Category Competition at the Mechanics Institute, Percy Street, Alnwick. In this annual competition
each of the *Seven clubs in the NCPF Northern Area were invited to enter 10 images with not less than 1,
and no more than 2 images to be submitted in each of the following categories - Landscape, Interiors,
Portraits, Flora & Fauna, Still Life, and Fantasy, Myth, Legend or Religion.
Alnwick had given the task of judging to Arjun Nambiar LRPS, from Gosforth Camera Club, he commented
on all sixty images, giving his opinion as to whether each matched the category in which they had been
submitted and then marking out of thirty. Arjun stated that he expected the standard of work to be high in
an interclub competition and had marked accordingly but that some images had artifacts and obvious edits
which also had to be taken into account. One Alnwick image 'Beach Stroll' gained a maximum thirty marks
and when the scores for each of the clubs individual images were added together only one mark separated
the top two clubs, with Alnwick scoring 270 pts to Morpeth's 269 pts. Full result as follows;
                                        1st.  Alnwick Camera Club........................270 pts.
2nd. Morpeth Camera Club ......................269 pts.
3rd.  Blyth Photographic Society ..............263 pts.
                                        4th.  Ashington Camera Club...................260 pts.
                                        5th.  Amble Photographic Group..............244 pts.
                                        6th.  Wooler Camera Club......................241 pts.
7th   *Cambois Camera Club failed to enter.
The event concluded with the trophy presentation and raffle followed by an excellent buffet provided by the
host club and a big thank you to Alnwick for their hospitality. Thank you also to the Morpeth members who
travelled to support, and to Glyn Trueman, Sue Dawson, Paul Appleby, Graham Sorrie, Carl Harper, Peter
Downs and Brian Morris, whose images made up the Morpeth CC entry.
