Club Meeting, Awards & Presentation Evening - Tuesday 2nd May 2023.

On Tuesday May 2nd 2023, the regular programme of Camera Club meetings for the 2022/23 season concluded
with the annual awards and presentation evening. This is a celebration of the members’ photographic work and
during the evening Competition Secretary Davy Bolam presented a new Audio Visual show that featured entries
from this seasons competitions and images submitted to the website gallery, together with a small number of
new and unseen images and favourites from the club archive. Set to an appropriate musical soundtrack we saw
a series of work featuring sculptures, art installation's, people, birds and flowers, architecture, castles, creative
impressions, treescapes, local views, lakes, lochs and landscapes, seascapes and sunsets, all crafted together
into a linear audio visual epitome.

The Awards ceremony then followed as the competition secretary gave a brief explanation of the points system
used to establish the winners before listing the club’s seven trophies. The top images in each category were then
projected followed by the announcement of the titles and author. Outgoing Co-chair Sue Dawson then presented
the award winners with their well deserved trophies and certificates


The Bates Cup - Awarded to the winner of the Pdi Landscape Competition.

The Browell Trophy - Awarded to the winner of the Pdi Natural History Competition.

The Colour Cup - Awarded to the Colour Print Worker of the Year.

1st - Davy Bolam.
2nd - Peter Downs.
3rd - Roseanne Robinson.



The Camera Trophy - Awarded to the Monochrome Print Worker of the Year.

1st - Paul Appleby.
2nd - Sue Dawson.
3rd - Davy Bolam.



The Pdi Shield - Awarded to the Pdi Worker of the Year.

1st - Paul Appleby.
2nd - Davy Bolam.
3rd - Glyn Trueman.



The Vince Rooker Award - Awarded to the Best Panel in the 3 of a Kind Print Competition.

1st - Roseanne Robinson.
Runner up - Dave Bisset.



The Photographers Plaque - Awarded to the Photographer of the Year.

1st - Paul Appleby.
2nd - Davy Bolam.
3rd - Sue Dawson.



Davy concluded by saying that in competitions this year, 22 different members entered 122 monochrome prints,168
colour prints and 208 Pdi’s in the competitions offered to an outside judge and thanked everyone who supported the
competitions. Club Co-Chair, Sue Dawson thanked Davy for providing a very entertaining & comprehensive account
of the club members achievements over the past year. As is usual for the final meeting of the season, members then
enjoyed a pooled buffet supper which brought to a close another successful season of photography.

In the coming weeks, organised summer walks and day outings to places of interest will resume and these will be
advertised by way of the club website and members newsletter.
