Club Meeting, 4 Way Interclub Competition - Tuesday 18th February 2025.

On Tuesday 18th February, Morpeth Camera Club hosted part two of the Annual 4-Way Interclub Competitions
and welcomed members from Cramlington, Gateshead and Gosforth Camera Clubs. In this competition, each club
entered five Colour Prints and five Monochrome Prints on any subject. Guest judge David Ord provided comments
on all prints and assigned a mark out of thirty for each.

David opened the evening by stating that he loved Interclub Competitions as the quality of the entries is always
exceptional. He evaluated prints based on three key criteria: print quality, the type of paper used, and visual appeal,
encompassing composition and subject matter. Entries included pastel and vivid landscapes, sport, portraits,
classic and modern architecture, street life, abstract, studio work and sculpture.

Gannet Portrait by Morpeth member Paul Appleby scored the maximum 30 marks, closely followed by Luskentyre
Impression by Arjun Nambiar of Gosforth with 29 marks, and Gaza the Aftermath by Peter Downs of Morpeth, also
scoring 29 marks, but in a close contest, Morpeth Camera Club was second on the night with Gosforth Camera Club
taking first place.

Since this is a two-part competition, tonight’s print scores were combined with the scores from the Projected Digital
Image section of the competition, held on 19th November 2024, to establish the overall Trophy winner. It was then
announced that Gosforth CC had taken overall first place with Morpeth CC as runner-up in second place. The Pro-Lab
Trophy was then awarded to a Gosforth Camera Club representative with the final result as follows:

                                       1st. Gosforth CC........................Pdi 243, Prints 259 = Total 502 marks.
                                       2nd. Morpeth CC.........................Pdi 225, Prints 258 = Total 483 marks.
                                       3rd. Gateshead CC......................Pdi 206, Prints 243 = Total 449 marks.
                                       4th. Cramlington CC...................Pdi 192, Prints 216 = Total 408 marks.

Prints were exhibited at close range during a buffet supper, concluding an exciting evening of excellent photography.
