4 way Interclub Pdi Competition - Tuesday 19th November 2025.
On Wednesday 19th November 2025, it was Gosforth Camera Club's turn to host the Annual 4 Way Interclub Competition
at the Duke of Wellington on Kenton Lane, Kenton. In this contest Morpeth, Gateshead, Cramlington and Gosforth Camera
Clubs had each submitted ten digital images on any subject. Lynda Golightly LRPS, from Consett & District Photographic
Society had been invited to view and comment on each image before giving a mark out of thirty.
The judge then described each image as it appeared on the screen, stating what the subject matter had meant to her
before giving appropriate comments and on occasion suggesting things that may be done to improve the picture. Lynda
remarked on the high standard of images among the forty entries and awarded the maximum 30 marks to Solitude by
Paul Kidd and to Azure Damselfly by Glyn Trueman, that were both Morpeth CC images. When the scores were announced
at the end of the evening Morpeth CC had taken first place. The result was as follows -
                                        Morpeth Camera Club....................260 marks.
                                        Gosforth Camera Club...................244 marks.
                                        Cramlington Camera Club.............218 marks.
                                        Gateshead Camera Club...............199 marks.

This was Part One of a Two Part Competition, we now look forward to February 2026 when the clubs meet again for the
second leg where the Colour & Monochrome Print section entries will be judged. The marks from both competitions are
then added together to find the overall winners who will receive the 4 Way Trophy. Thanks to Glyn Trueman, Davy Bolam,
Paul Appleby, Sue Dawson, Graham Sorrie, Peter Downs and Paul Kidd whose images made up the winning Morpeth entry.
Thank you also to the Morpeth members who attended and enjoyed the evening that was rounded off with a finger buffet
supplied by the hosts.
