7 Way Interclub Print Competition - Thursday 22nd January 2026.

On Thursday 22nd January, Blyth Photographic Group hosted the annual 7 Way Interclub Print Competition between
camera clubs in the Northern Counties Photographic Federation's Northern Area Region. This year clubs from Ashington,
Alnwick, Amble, Blyth, Cambois, Wooler and Morpeth entered four Colour & four Monochrome prints on any subject into
the competition, which was judged by Glen Lawson from Gateshead Camera Club.

Glen started by commenting about the very high standard of prints entered and how he had marked them, indicating
that, in order to get a spread of marks, there were some images on which he would give many positive comments but
not necessarily give them a very high mark. Glen then went on to give his comments on each print, starting with the
monochome images, before announcing his score out of thirty for each print.

In a close competition, Alnwick came first, Blyth second, and Amble third, with just 5 marks separating the top 3 clubs.
The president of Blyth Photographic Society then presented the trophy to a representative from Alnwick and District
Camera Club and thanked Glen Lawson for judging the competition. The images that scored 28, 29 or 30 marks were
then put on display for those present to look at closely, while they enjoyed a good buffet supper.

The final results after adding together the scores for the monochrome and colour print sections were:

1st Alnwick CC .........................206 marks.
2nd Blyth PS ............................204 marks.
3rd Amble PG ...........................201 marks.
4th Ashington CC.......................196 marks.
5th Cambois CC .........................194 marks.
6th Morpeth CC..........................188 marks.
7th Wooler CC............................183 marks.

   ‘Pressed Geum Flower’.

Congratulations to one of Morpeth’s members, Paul Appleby, whose print of a ‘Pressed Geum Flower’ was one of six
prints awarded a top score of 30 marks. Our thanks go to members of Blyth Photographic Society for hosting a well
organised and enjoyable evening.
