On Sunday 26th March 2017, Morpeth Camera Club travelled into the Scottish Border's to compete in the Border's
Digital Challenge. This is a projected digital image competition held annually at Hawick in Roxburghshire. Each of
the participating clubs had submitted ten images, eight to be marked & two to be held in reserve in case of a tie.
This year Hawick had secured the services of Pax Garabedian DPAGB, EFIAP, PPSA who had accepted their invite
to judge this open competition. A new venue had revived interest and clubs from Dumfries, Galashiels, Earlston
Kelso, Berwick, Musselburgh, Liddesdale, Morpeth, Hawick, Abbey, Selkirk, Amble & Peebles had responded to
compete for " The Reiver Cup " at the Tower Mill Cinema within the Heart of Hawick Heritage Hub.

Every aspect of photography was reflected in the one hundred and four images in this competition. Monochrome,
colour, still life, portraiture, wildlife, landscape, seascapes, sport, architecture, travel. Throughout the afternoon
the judge commented on every image, offering constructive advice on composition, lighting, exposure and subject
matter before marking each image out of twenty.

When all the marks had been added together it was announced that in a very close competition Morpeth Camera
Club had taken first place with Dumfries Camera Club in second place and Musselburgh Camera Club in third place.
Vince Rooker, Glyn Trueman and George Sudlow were present as Morpeth Camera Club pdi Competition Secretary
Davy Bolam accepted the trophy on behalf of the club. A big thank you to those who took the trouble to attend this
event and to the authors whose images made up our successful entry. It is hoped to display the trophy and show the
Morpeth entry images at the club meeting on Tuesday 4th April.

Davy.
