Summer Walk No1, Amble Circular - Tuesday 13th July 2021.

The first walk on the Morpeth Camera Club Summer Programme was held on Tuesday 13th July 2021 as fourteen
members met in The Braid and Marina car park at Amble. The aim of the evening was to finally meet up in person,
have a chat and to take some photographs at this popular coastal location, after the long covid break and a season
of virtual club meetings.
Leaving the car park, we walked out onto views of the coquet estuary at high tide and followed the path through
the yards of the Amble Boat Club and the Coquet Yacht Club. On a warm evening members were soon capturing
images as the evening light illuminated boats on the water. Our walk led us past the many different craft berthed
in the marina, out onto Coquet street and then back to the riverside along the promenade in front of the stunning
Coble Quay waterfront apartments.
Passing the RNLI lifeboat station on Radcliffe Quay we continued to the inner harbour where most of the group
took a short detour to the harbour fish bar for some excellent takeaway fish and chips. Regrouping on the quayside
we passed the new harbour commissioners' development and walked east out along the pier before turning south
onto the breakwater and then west along Bay View to the Little Shore beach and the colourful beach huts.
Taking our last shots of fishing boats & lobster pots along quayside, we returned via the retail pods in the harbour
village to the marina and retraced our steps back to the boat club area. The slight breeze had dropped leaving calm
water as the last few images were taken of the estuary. Thank you to everyone who attended and made it a great
start to the summer walks programme.
