Virtual Meeting, 3-Way Interclub Competition - Tuesday 24th November 2020.

On Tuesday 24th November 2020, Morpeth Camera Club hosted their first virtual interclub competition. Due to the
coronavirus restrictions this annual event was conducted over the internet and members from all three clubs were
able to enjoy it from from the comfort of their homes. In this contest Gosforth, Gateshead & Morpeth Camera Clubs
had each submitted fifteen colour digital images on any subject. Northern Counties Photographic Federation judge
Pax Garabedian DPAGB EFIAP RPSA APAGB from Carlisle Camera club had accepted the invitation to view the entries.

Pax described each image as it appeared on the screen, stating what the subject matter had meant to him before
giving appropriate comments and on occasion suggesting things that may be done to improve the picture, then
awarding a mark out of thirty. The high standard of work in Interclub Competitions demands a detailed critique
and Pax stated that he had hoped his marks had reflected this. When the marks for each of the clubs fifteen
images were added together it was a very close contest with the result was as follows.

                                   Morpeth Camera Club....................399 marks.
                                   Gosforth Camera Club...................397 marks.
                                   Gateshead Camera Club................395 marks.

Two Morpeth images gained the maximum 30 marks, Gallop in the Fog by John Thompson and Running Together by
Glyn Trueman. Congratulations to John and Glyn and a thank you to John Willmore, Steve Mcdonald, Mark Harrison,
Brian Morris, Sue Dawson, Davy Bolam, Pat Wood whose images made up our winning entry.

This was Part One of a Two Part Competition we now look forward to March 2021 when the clubs meet again for
the second leg where each club will enter fifteen Monochrome images. The marks from both competitions are then
added together to find the overall winners who will receive the Trophy.
